Microsoft is making exciting moves in Southeast Asia. CEO Satya Nadella just announced a brand-new data center in Thailand. This means faster cloud services for the country's businesses and exciting growth opportunities!
That's not all! Microsoft's also offering free AI training for over 100,000 Thai people. Imagine all the cool projects they'll be able to build!
Nadella's been busy in the region. Yesterday, he announced a $1.7 billion investment in Indonesia's cloud and AI tech too.
"Thailand has a huge chance to lead the way with digital technology and AI," says Nadella. Thailand's Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, is thrilled, saying, "Microsoft's investment is a huge step for Thailand's growth!"
Microsoft's been spreading its reach through Southeast Asia for a while now, just in 2021, they announced new data centers in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Why all this fuss about data centers and AI? Think of AI as a super-smart computer brain. It needs tons of information to learn and get better. That's the job of a data center – it's the brain's library! Cloud computing makes it easy to access these giant libraries.
It's not just businesses that benefit. Microsoft is working to give 2.5 million people across Southeast Asia free AI training by 2025. That's a lot of new tech talent in the region!
